Creating Your Link(s)

1. Advertising Options

There are currently three types of advertisements you may choose -- detailed on the "Advertise With Us" page. We also offer a banner advertisement -- see Banner Ads page.

How Many Links Can I Have? The short answer is, as many as you like, with a couple of important qualifications. Our site does permit linking to different pages at the same site, but not to the same home page more than once, no matter what category you select. This prevents link duplication and directory spamming.

2. Creating Your Links

It's easy. Just type in a title for your link, a description, enter the URL, and add a reciprocal link back to us on your site (optional).

3. Sponsored Links -- Build Awareness

You can choose to upgrade a link to "Sponsored" and it will appear on our home page, and major category pages in the "Sponsored" box to help build awareness of your website.

4. Growing Link Popularity

Major Search Engines, like Google and Yahoo, place a lot of emphasis on who links to your website, nowadays, on the theory that the more quality sites linking to yours, the more valuable it will be for searchers. That's what WebWinX.com is all about -- we help you place more links to your websites, and monitor Google's "PageRank", and your Alexa statistics (Alexa is a site tracking service, now owned by Amazon.com). 5. What is My Site Pagerank?

The above graph, and chart appears on all listing pages at WebWinx.com.

Here on WebWinX.com, your Pagerank is shown in a small bar graph next to your listing (see above). The actual ranking is done by Google, and while the actual mathematical formula for your Pagerank is a closely guarded secret by Google, they do make the following explanation of it on their site:

"PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages important."

6. What is My Alexa Ranking?

Your Alexa Ranking (and related statistics) is the tracking information gathered, and reported through Alexa.com (shown above). You should sign up there (free) and register all of your sites. Alexa.com is a respected service among WebMasters for gauging the health of their marketing efforts, and also can be a factor in the sale of a Domain Name or Website. Get the Alexa Toolbar (free) now.

7. How do I get one of those small thumbnail views of my website to show up in my listing?

Currently, thumbnails are available only by registering your site at ThumbNails.org. In the near future, we plan to add thumbnails as a feature on all Sponsored Listings.

9. What are those red diamond "link ranks" that appear next to each listing?

Our Editors rate sites with a 1-10 diamonds ranking system, which is based on a number of parameters including professionality of a website, website design, website useability, and comments here on WebWinX.com. You can leave a comment if you disagree with a ranking, or support it.
